How to Use Dia-Cool
Dia-Cool works through evaporation, keeping your medication at a safe temperature between 18-26°C (64-78°F) for up to 48 hours. Follow these steps:
- Submerge the Cool-Pack in water as instructed: 60 minutes for first-time use, 60 minutes after drying out, and 15-20 minutes for daily recharging.
- Evenly distribute the Gel-Pearls inside the pack during submersion. Avoid overfilling to keep the pack pliable.
- After soaking, allow the Cool-Pack to dry for 15-30 minutes. Ensure it feels dry to the touch before placing your medication inside.
- Store your insulin or medication in the activated Cool-Pack and insert it into the outer bag, ensuring airflow for effective cooling.
Important Tips
- Do not leave the Cool-Pack submerged in water for longer than instructed. Over-soaking can cause the Gel-Pearls to absorb too much water, potentially leading to the pearls exploding and damaging the pack.
- Dia-Cool is not suitable for long-term storage; always store insulin in a refrigerator when not using Dia-Cool.
- Never place the Dia-Cool in a closed container; it needs ventilation to maintain the cooling effect.
- Follow the manufacturer's instructions for insulin storage and always keep insulin within the recommended temperature.
